200 girls and 93 women were rescued on April 28, Tuesday, by the Nigerian military during the operation in Sambisa forest, a major stronghold of the Boko Haram terrorists group.
According to the Defence Headquarters, the women were found at Tokumbere camp, inside Sambisa Forest.
Nigeria military has admitted that the hostages were held in severe and inhuman conditions.
Defence spokesman Chris Olukolade said the army would “comprehensively” clean out the forest. “There is great hope for the recovery of more hostages of the terrorists,” he added.
He added that the true identity of some of the rescued women and girls are yet to be ascertained.
